Through an active mentorship model and dynamic virtual workshops, the Academy helps participants gain the tools, confidence, and connections needed to thrive on their healthcare journey.
Our mission is simple: to prepare the next generation of Black healthcare leaders through knowledge, mentorship, and community.

Past Topics Covered:
-
Money management and financial literacy
 -
Becoming a better mentor/mentee
 -
Professional development
 -
IMG/Non-Traditional Student and Professional panel

What We Do
Every summer, BGWC Academy offers interactive, virtual sessions that bring students and healthcare professionals together for real conversation, guidance, and growth.
Our programming includes:
-
Four to five pre-planned interactive workshops focused on academic success, career readiness, and personal well-being.
 -
Access to the BGWC community chat — open discussions with peers who share their journeys and lessons learned.
 -
Access to a supportive mentorship network that extends beyond the summer sessions.

We’re not just teaching — we’re building a movement of informed, supported, and connected students ready to lead.
